Hey everyone, a while back I made a post asking people to explain OAuth to me because for the life of me I just couldn't get it. Today the process fully clicked and finally made sense! I was working on developing a login system using Passport.js and ran into some issues with my Facebook login not being serialized into session. I eventually got frustrated enough to say to hell with Passport and wrote the pain call myself, from the initial token call to the serialization of the user. Holy cow did that really start to clear things up after reading the documentation for both Facebook and Google APIs. Just wanted to say that! If anyone is struggling with understanding OAuth I'd highly suggest writing the Calle yourself to understand the flow of things. If anyone wants to see the end product you can visit this website. It's based on a 2014 scotch.io tutorial, but mainly just for the UI and a few pointers. Thank you everyone who helped explain OAuth to me a while ago. It really helped me out this week!
