I've been learning more about backends and talking to databases recently. ORMs seem to be highly encouraged by some, and despised by others. I've seen a few people around the internet say "just learn SQL", but others say they prefer using an ORM.I'm into TypeScript myself, and I've been looking for a good option, but I can't really find one that's good, quick and easy. I feel like if I'm going to do it the hard way, why not just use SQL. Also, I imagine learning an ORM will backfire later on, if I ever have to handle a database using a different language.I found this HackerNews discussion which was relevant. It looks like in general there's just mixed reviews. What do you guys think, are ORMs worth it?View Poll
