Good Guides to learn how to code using ( consuming ) REST APIs

Hi There,although here is a lot of stuff about Develop Rest API ... as a newbie in WebDev I would like a more consistent learning about USE apis to develop ...I have search books and trainings at Udemy and also discover a lot of guides to DEVELOP APIs but not so great content about develop applications using APIs ...I would like recomendations on that ...Prefer to Ruby or Node , but not discarting Python or PHP in terms of language.Best regards
