Snipcart as a first E-commerce project?

I have been getting into node and express recently, done a few video tutorials through udemy, and played around with the basics. I have a couple of friends who would be interested in a website, but they want e-commerce included, without going through something like shopify(they want it to look native to the website). My question is, would snipcart be the best option for me to look into, or is it for more advanced developers?
