Out of ideas, NPM is being really slow

So I've been using npm on my windows machine for a while now and there have been no problems at all.​Now for some reason when I try to use npm it takes forever to do anything. It takes 30 seconds just to get a response from npm -v.... Don't even get me started on installing packages. It never used to take this long, and no it does no matter what project I'm working in.​I did a complete uninstall and reinstall of both node and npm and it's still doing it. Went into appdata and deleted anything close to node or npm. Out of ideas... Any help would be greatly appreciated! <3
