A few days ago I decided to check on the latest Nodejs version when I noticed a #BlackLivesMatter hashtag on the top of the page. Curious what Nodejs has to say about it I clicked on the link and read the page where they explain some of the ways they are going to contribute to the #BLM movement and help black people in general.Although I agree with some of the points in the text, I find it really difficult to understand the mindset and logic behind some of the actions that are being taken:"To Black people looking for AMPLIFICATION: We're here for you""We will work with ANY Black community member who wishes to contribute to Node.js""We will share projects founded and built by Black community members"Amplifying someones voice based on their skin color is racist and is not the way to help a certain group that has been sistematiclly discriminated against. And in this digital age where most of the developers are known by their avatars and usernames anyway, it makes 0 sense.I think there are ways of helping people that had less chance to succeed in life, but our skin color is definitely not the criteria by which that should be done. What do you think?
