NPM email-templates ampersand problem

I am trying to add email capabilities to by nodejs backend. I am using the NPM email-templates package: https://www.npmjs.com/package/email-templatesWhen composing the email, I am using a pug template. The subject line I desire has an ampersand "&" character. But the template keeps converting it to & . So the text in the email subject is & instead of just the & character.I can't seem to figure out how to prevent this.my subject.pug file looks like:= `U&B Job Notes - ${jobName}`The results come like this: U&B Job Notes - Test JobAny ideas?
