How do you use node in your sh shell after having installed it in your cmd shell?

https://o365insights.com/downgrade-npm-for-spfx-1.7.0/Well, I uninstalled node.js and then followed the steps above and then it seems that it worked except I can only access npm in my cmd shell and not in my sh shell inside visual studio, which is very infuriating.
