Is anyone using MySQL JSON???

I have been TOTALLY unable to find ANY NodeJS tutorials, or even MENTIONS of using the JSON data type in MySQL queries done with NodeJS. Is no one using the datatype, or what?If you are, can you please give me a tutorial and some of your queries? Im trying to figure this shit out, and so far it seems like id be better off using mediumtext, which is ridiculous.The ONLY mention of MySQL JSON and NodeJS ive been able to find was a stackoverflow reply which said you need to use mysql2 npm module for it? Is this even true? I have searched through EVERY man page and help and readme page of mysql2, and THERE IS NO MENTION of the WORD "JSON". Is this a halloween trick? LmaoThanks in advance guys
