cursive letters being encoded to Japanese/Korean

I am extracting text from a pdf file using the pdf-parse library. When I save the text to a file or send it as a response. some cursive letters are showing up as Japanese/Korean letters. here are a few examples:2𝜋𝑟 is showing up as 2휋푟𝐴 = ∅ is showing up as 퐴=∅20𝑙 is showing up as 20푙60 𝑖𝑠 80% is showing up as 60 푖푠 80%
