fs module scaffolding

I am trying to create project scaffolding with the fs module (e.g. create a bunch of files with one script). However, there are certain keywords in the files that I want to change based on the input from the script. What is the best way to do that? I already have the templates written, so I would need to be able to copy the templates with certain words changed)
