I'm a little concerned with it... I'm an older developer who learned C++ first, then Java, then [name language you hate], and I've noticed more and more just kind of an attitude of "if you don't know or like the latest Node-related stuff I'm into, then there's something wrong with you" among the more-educated NodeJS (elitists?) more than any other community I've been in, which is highly surprising considering how elegant the language is.I'm a bit new to Node and have only done some test things (and have liked it for the most part), but have had a harder time getting into the community even though I've bounced around a bunch of communities dabbling in this or that, and I hear more down-talking to and of people in other languages than I do from people of other languages, in most cases from 20-somethings or early-30-somethings in a way that shows a lack of broad business experience making decisions regarding unexpected technical or organizational challenges... so I wonder if maybe there's something about the way Node or modern JavaScript is being taught that is causing an attitude of "it's so easy because I know nothing of what's under the http or OS hood".Maybe I'm just an old guy who's used to the old exploratory zeal for lower-level machinations, but I don't feel down-talking or elitism helps the programming community anywhere.
