I know PHP is rather a server-side language but right now I'm in the midst of choosing whether to create awesome stuff either using NodeJS or PHP. My NodeJS skill is rather 2/10 while PHP 6/10. The reason behind this is because I can do a complete solution simply using PHP+HTML+CSS rather than HTML+CSS+JavaScript. But recently, I just discovered electronjs and it's so awesome. It is also the reason why I found NodeJS. I fall in love with NodeJS environment the first week of using. I can build a native desktop app on NodeJS easily. Other feature that I like about NodeJS is the npm but since PHP also have composer, it's no biggy.Right now, I'm trying to solve some problems and it require me to do scrape. I think the best language suiteable for this is Python. However, I don't want to add more learning curve in my life. I'm already busy as it is now. I'm quite familiar with MySQL/MariaDB (relational databases) but if I need to do my app in NodeJS then I might need to learn MangoDB which I'm totally new about it and I'm too lazy to learn new stuff.I think, I can build faster with NodeJS (also since it's not server-side it also runs faster compare to PHP) and it's quite cool but I'm more familiar coding in PHP rather than JavaScript so I'm really clueless and lost at the moment. I'm not looking for job so it doesn't matter which language gives more offers.
