Is it possible to require from absolute paths?

Hey,​is it somehow possible to use require on absolute paths? I noticed I have a lot of require statements, which rely on relative paths, which can change over the time.​I would like to configure the absolute paths in a config.js and would resolve the require by using these. Any ideas?
