I have been working from Heroku's node.js simple webpage template to try and learn and do some work. What exactly do I need to create a new page for the app?

I setup a nav bar in the html, with the relevant href to point to different pages I would like to create branching from index.​However I think there must be some kind of path thing I need to create and a tutorial mentioned a routing file called app.js but the template doesn't have anything like that. Any help would be appreciated. If you need more info just ask I'll provide what I can.
