After nearly three decades of Visual Basic 6 development, my company finally decided to rewrite our application in modern languages from scratch. We settled for Ember.js for the front end and are currently debating about the language to use for the back end. The final decision is to make between Node.js and Scala. Both languages seem to have their advantages and disadvantages.I wanted to ask their respective community what they think the biggest benefits above the alternative are. Since I'm also writing a paper on the subject, I would be glad if you could back up your statement with a reference/link, but just your opinion is also highly appreciated.Here are some bullet points of the application:1 million lines of code (many of whose will be taken care of by Ember)a maximum of 10.000 clients at the same timelots of data persistence and calculations
