all node modules disappear every time I log in to vagrant

so every time I close my macbook, comeback later, continue work, run a command like npm test or npm start and a huge wave of errors with things like (module not found) to which I have to run npm install again and waste huge times sometimes I'm using node 8 and when I come back I see the console using 7so this is wasting huge loads of my time
